DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The Dallas Mavericks will begin their 2012 preseason schedule of games in Europe as they take on Dirk’s home country team Alba Berlin at the O2 World arena in Berlin, Germany on October 6th.

The Mavs will then travel to Barcelona, Spain for a meeting with 17-time Spanish Champions FC Barcelona Regal of the Euroleague on Oct. 9 at the Palau Sant Jordi.

Both games will be part of the NBA Europe Live 2012 and will be broadcast exclusively on NBATV.

The team returns home to the American Airlines Center in Dallas for consecutive games against the Houston Rockets on October 15th and the Phoenix Suns on the 17th.

The Mavericks will take  3 game road trip to play the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 20, the New Orleans Hornets on Oct. 22 and will end in Wichita, Kansas on Oct. 24th when they face the defending Western Conference Champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

The team will close the 8-game exhibition season on Oct. 26 against the Charlotte Bobcats in Dallas.

Following preseason play, the Mavericks tips off the 2012-13 regular season at the L.A. Lakers on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
