DALLAS COUNTY (CBS.DFW.COM) - Dallas County officials have decided to call off plans for aerial spraying because of weather concerns.
On Saturday, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said weather is making it difficult to complete aerial spraying for the entire city of Dallas and the surrounding cities.
The spraying of the insecticide, DUET, is not effective during rain or high winds.
“The weather patterns are such that the mission for tonight has been scrapped,” Jenkins said. “Weather permitting, there will be spraying Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.”
On Friday, four planes began spraying for mosquitoes around 9 p.m. but storms forced the planes back to ground around 10:45 p.m. Bad weather also forced spraying to be cut short Thursday night.
