AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM) - The Texas Department of Public Safety announced Thursday the capture of one its most wanted fugitives.
Sean Michael Smith ,37, was arrested in Reno, Nevada on August 17th after he was stopped for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
Smith was convicted of Indecency with a Child related to a 1999 attack involving a 14-year-old girl in Denton County. Smith was wanted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in Denton County. He was added to the most wanted list in July 2011.
Officials say no tip from the public was used in the arrest.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 26 Texas Ten Most Wanted fugitives and sex offenders and have been arrested so far this year.
