High School Band Raises Money For Funeral
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A high school band has created a fund to help raise money for the funeral of a member who drowned Friday night.
15-year-old Rick Sek drowned at an end of band camp pool party at the Lockheed Martin Recreational Association on Friday night.
On Saturday night more than a hundred people paid tribute to Sek at a candlelight vigil at Paschal High School.
“Rick had an honest and unique outlook on life, he always gave the benefit of the doubt,” said Oakleigh Beard the Paschal Band president. “ Rick was who so many should aspire to be.”
To help raise money for Sek’s funeral the Paschal High School Band Boosters have activated an emergency fund to help pay for funeral expenses.
In addition, band members will selling memorial bracelets saying “We Play For Rick,” at the high school this week. They will also be asking for donation at the Paschal-Heights football game Friday night.
