Richardson Unveils Plans For West Nile Spraying

RICHARDSON (CBSDFW.COM) – The city of Richardson has scheduled a West Nile Spraying for Tuesday, September 11 and Wednesday, September 12.

According to the city, it is important to spray on consecutive days in an effort to reduce the spreading of the disease.  The scheduled sprayings comes after a positive test sample was taken from a mosquito pool in the area.

Richardson has had 12 confirmed cases of the West Nile Virus to date, however no deaths have been reported.

Below is a schedule of the events planned by the city.

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

  • Time: 10 p.m. to Wednesday, September 12 at 4:30 a.m.
  • Location 1: North Floyd Road east to Canyon Creek Drive; West Lookout Drive south to West Campbell Road
  • Location 2: Waterview Drive east to Nantucket Drive; West Campbell Road south to Melrose Drive

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

  • Time: 10 p.m. to Thursday, September 13 at 4:30 a.m.
  • Location 1: North Floyd Road east to Canyon Creek Drive, West Lookout Drive south to West Campbell Road.
  • Location 2: Waterview Drive east to Nantucket Drive; West Campbell Road south to Melrose Drive

Further spraying may occur later in the week depending on future test results.
