Men lie, women lie – but numbers don’t lie. So listen to me carefully…this is the day & age of NFL parody. Listen to this stat: Last year 8 teams finished 8-8, 12 teams finished better than 8-8 and 12 teams finished worse than 8-8.
It’s getting harder and harder for teams to win consistently, let alone in convincing
fashion (i.e. cover the spread). That’s why it’s so important that these picks are left to marinate and settle in. if the picks are bagged & released too soon, chaos could occur!
So grab a pencil or break out your smartphone or tablet ‘cause here are this week’s picks.
Dallas -3 At Seattle. The Cowboys are for real, even though experts are loth to admit it. Key stat: if the Cowboys win they’ll start the season 2-0. 24 times in franchise history they’ve started 2-0. 20 times they’ve made it to the playoffs. Running the ball will be key in this game for both teams. Cowboys win 17-10.
Washington -3 At St. Louis RGIII is for real. But the big secret in Washington is their stellar defense. The Rams are not ready yet. Redskins win.
At Pittsburgh -5.5 NY Jets The Steelers will not start the season 0-2, but the Jets will put up a fight. Steelers cover and win a high scoring game.
At San Diego -6 Tennessee The Chargers got lucky last week. Better to be lucky than good sometimes. Take the Chargers to win at home.
At San Francisco -6.5 Detroit Will the 49ers have a Green Bay hangover? Not likely. 49ers win at home to own the most impressive 2-0 start in the league.
At Atlanta -3 Denver Monday Night Football. Can Payton Manning do it again? Yes! Last week he became the Broncos new offensive coordinator. As it should be. Broncos win again.
Remember, these picks are for entertainment purposes only. I do have a sparkling record! Enjoy week 2. I’m Chris Arnold giving you “all that & a Bag of Pick’s” on 105.3 the Fan!
