FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Fairgoers will have an opportunity to take home more than corny dogs and cotton candy from this year’s State Fair of Texas.
Once again, DFW Rescue Me, in conjunction with D.R. Horton America’s Builder, will hold an adoption event for all 24 days of this year’s fair, starting on Sept. 28. Last year’s inaugural “Bark at Fair Park” event found homes for 150 dogs, and organizers hope to break that record this year.
The popular kissing booth is also making a comeback to this year’s fair. “The kissing booth was a real crowd pleaser and was one of the Fair’s most talked about events last year,” said Jim Wenger, president of DFW Rescue Me. “Fairgoers enjoyed snapping pictures with DFW Rescue Me dogs while getting kissed.”
Fairgoers can visit the Bark at Fair Park mega marathon adoption event at Centennial Terrace, next to the east doors of Centennial Terrance. Volunteers will staff the event on opening day and every weekend from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and every weekday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
