DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) – Former first lady Laura Bush hosted a fundraising luncheon for the Mitt Romney presidential campaign at the Bush home in Dallas on Tuesday afternoon.
Romney campaign spokeswoman Sarah Haley said that the Republican presidential nominee’s wife, Ann Romney, was to be the guest of honor at the event. Former President George W. Bush and Mitt Romney were not scheduled to attend the event.
Mitt Romney is scheduled to attend a fundraising banquet later Tuesday at the Hilton Anatole hotel in Dallas. Cell phone video of Romney has been circulated Tuesday via Mother Jones. It was recorded at a $50,000 a plate fundraiser event in Florida last spring, much like the one that will be held in Dallas.
KRLD reporter Emily Trube spoke with University of Texas at Arlington political science professor Allan Saxe and Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business professor Mike Davis about the video, and what it could mean for the presidential race.
