IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - A woman working at a Denny’s restaurant in Irving was hospitalized Tuesday morning after allegedly being stabbed by her husband. The incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. in the 4100 block of Airport Freeway, near Esters Road, and it happened while customers were inside.

According to the Irving Police Department, 54-year-old Thomas Parker of Irving walked into the Denny’s location and started having a conversation with his 61-year-old wife, who is an employee at the restaurant. Her identity has not been released. Authorities said that the suspect then pulled out a knife without warning and stabbed the woman multiple times in the upper torso.

The victim was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. She was last reported to be in serious, but stable condition.

The suspect attempted to flee from the scene, but was arrested by responding police officers nearby. Officials have not determined the motive. There were a few customers inside of the Denny’s restaurant at the time of the stabbing, but nobody else was injured.
