IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) -  People in both the Seattle and Dallas organizations have been informed that the vicious and illegal crackback block administered to Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee by Seahawks receiver Golden Tate will result in a $21,000 fine to Tate, sources say.

In reviewing the play from Sunday’s 27-7 Seahawks win, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said to the media, “I’m sure they will (fine him). We saw the same thing you saw. That’s certainly something we know or expect penalties and fines about.”

The play occurred when Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson ran from the pocket with Lee in pursuit. Tate peeled back and launched his head into Lee, striking him near the neck and head – a violation of a newly installed rule defining a person in Lee’s position as “defenseless.’’

Somewhat stunningly, Lee – the NFL’s top tackler after two games – returned to the field a few plays later after passing concussion testing.

“I feel fantastic,’’ Lee said today. “I was back a couple plays later. I probably could have played the next play.’’
