LOS ANGELES (CBS NEWS) - There’s a new “Big Brother” champion in the house. The season 14 winner was announced in a 90-minute finale on Tuesday night, just hours after CBS confirmed that the series would be returning for another season next summer.
In the end, it came down to season 10 winner Dan Gheesling, Tulane University student Ian Terry and nurse Danielle Murphree. But in the first half of the show, Murphree got the boot.
Finally, after 75 days and 31 competitions, 21-year-old engineering student Terry garnered the most votes and won season 14 of the hit reality series, taking home a cool $500,000. “This is easily the best moment of my entire life,” Terry told host Julie Chen after the win. He even managed to topple Gheesling, arguably one of the best “Big Brother” contestants in the show’s history.
But Gheesling still won $50,000 for the second place finish. Meanwhile, formerly eliminated houseguest Frank Eudy scored the “America’s Favorite Houseguest” title, walking away with $25,000.
