FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – The Dallas Convention Center will transform into the largest doctor’s office in the world on September 29. The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) is offering free medical checks and screenings for uninsured patients.
The organization says it is still accepting appointments for children for its one-day health clinic, but all appointments for adults have been filled.
Parents or guardians may call 1-800-340-1301 to register their children for pediatric services, which include eye exams, glasses, and vaccinations.
Walks-in for the clinic will be accepted as resources are available and are encouraged to come to the convention center between 10:00 a.m. to noon.
However, walk-ins should expect an extended wait, and there are no guarantees that walk-ins will be able to see physicians due to the huge demand.
For those individuals who are not able to schedule an appointment, representatives from local charitable clinics will be on hand with information about charitable clinics resources in the area.
Due to the overwhelming demand for this weekend’s clinic, doctors and advanced nurse practitioners are still needed to volunteer for the clinic, particularly for the afternoon shift.
