FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Platinum-selling singer Jerrod Niemann is no stranger to the country music scene. He has exploded on the charts with hits like “Lover, Lover” and “What Do You Want.” He is also no stranger to Texas. His parents live in Fort Worth, so Niemann is often in the DFW area He even attended college in the state.
Niemann is back in Fort Worth for a performance at Billy Bob’s Texas on Friday night, but you can get a sneak preview right here. He stopped by the CBS 11 News studio on Friday morning for a special live performance. Check out the videos below to watch!
This time around, Niemann has added some non-traditional elements to his sound — namely, a horn section. “There is really no true definition,” he said about the band’s take on music. “Our ears are always on. We’re inspired by many things. But, first and foremost, definitely country music, that’s what we’re all about. But we like to let everything kind of seep in.”
Niemann’s latest album — “Free the Music” — was just released in stores this week.
