FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – In a reversal of his earlier decision to allow TCU Quarterback Casey Pachall to dress out and be on the sidelines for the Horned Frogs game Saturday against Iowa State, Head Coach Gary Paterson has ruled to keep the embattled QB away from the spotlight.
CBSDFW learned of the move Friday night. DFW sports personality Randy Galloway reportedly spoke with the coach Friday. Patterson told Galloway Pachall’s presence would pose too much of a distraction.
Pachall, who admitted to failing a drug test earlier in the year, was arrested early Thursday morning after failing a breathalyzer test.
Patterson had originally told reporters Pachall would suit up and join the team despite his suspension because he waned the quarterback to be with his team during his time of trouble,
Patterson has not commented how long Pachall’s suspension will last.
The #15 Horned Frogs face Iowa State Saturday in their first Big 12 home game. Kickoff for the game is set for 2:30 p.m.
