Small Drop In Temps Before Storms Return To North Texas
The clouds have been slow to clear North Texas today, but the western half of the area has managed to see a lot of sunshine and temperatures in the 80s this afternoon. It has been breezy as well with gusts close to 30 mph at times. A weak cold front will slip into the area overnight so temperatures will be a few degrees cooler tomorrow afternoon with mainly cloudy skies. It will be cooler north of I-20 and warmer south of I-20.
We’ll get that south wind back for Thursday and Friday which, along with more sunshine, will get us back into the 80s areawide, along with humid and breezy conditions.
Still expecting a system right now located over northern California to send a cold front our way for the weekend. Most of the dynamics and energy with this system will move into the central part of the U.S. We will be on the south edge of thunderstorm chances locally over the weekend. It does appear that the cold front will stall out on top of us Sunday, which will keep our storm chances going. Could have a few strong storms too over the weekend.
