A WINDY, WARM SUNDAY
We start this morning with some clouds and very warm temperatures, almost 20 degrees warmer than yesterday morning.
Winds are going to really pick up by late morning. Clouds should clear in the metro area by late morning; it’ll mostly sunny and windy with gusts out of the south over 35mph. Highs are going to get close to 90 degrees in some places, a day more like early September than mid-October:
STORMS POSSIBLE MONDAY
An upper level low is swinging out of the southwest corner of the U.S. and moving over us just to the northwest. This will be enough to get some strong storms going in north Texas by Monday afternoon, especially to the north and northwest of the metro area. We’ll keep the storm chances in the metro area around 20% but double it for Bowie over to Sherman.
STAYING WARM AND HUMID
For the rest of the work week it’ll be in the 80′s with morning clouds and windy afternoons. This is going to be a week that’ll be a revisit to early September as we beg off the cooler weather of Fall all week long.
NEXT WEEKEND: NOT SO WARM
The next cold front arrives on Friday. Both Thursday and Friday will be very windy. Gust could reach 40mph on Friday as the front comes toward us. It could be the type of day where temperatures are warmer in the late morning than in late afternoon. We could easily get into the mid-80′s even but on the other side of the front the temperatures will drop to the 60′s. Expect some storms with this transition, it is too early to tell yet if we run the risk of severe weather.
It’ll be much colder on Saturday. I expect highs next weekend on both days to only be in the 60′s with lows in the upper 40′s by Sunday morning and in the upper 30′s by Monday morning.
