ALLEN (CBSDFW.COM) - Grab your cowboy hat and boots on Wednesday, because one North Texas community is going to look like something out of the Old West. There is a good old fashioned cattle drive — along with plenty of other cowboy-inspired festivities — coming to Allen as part of the Texas Stampede preview event.

The full event is scheduled for November 8-10, but North Texans can get a taste of what’s to come on Wednesday. CBS 11 News meteorologist Jeff Jamison was there early for a peek at the event. Jeff tried some cowboy-cooked coffee and even attempted to rope a stationary steer. Check out the videos below to see his reports, and click here for more information about the event.
