Teen Killed In Early Morning Crash Outside Sanger

SANGER (CBSDFW.COM) - A teenager is dead and another jailed in an early morning crash in rural Denton County outside of Sanger.

Denton County Sheriff’s Department officials say the accident happened around 4:00 Saturday morning east of Sanger on View Road.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says 18-year-old Tyler Monroe of Sanger lost control of his 2005 GMC pickup and ran into a utility pole and a tree.

Monroe’s passenger, 17-year-old Bradley Mitchell of Athens, was killed in the accident. Monroe was transported to Denton Regional Hospital before being arrested on Intoxication Manslaughter charges.

DPS Spokesman Lonnie Haschell says the accident is still under investigation. No bond has been set for Monroe.
