DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A 26-year-old store clerk was killed after robbers opened fire at an Oak Cliff convenience store on Monday night. It happened around 11:15 p.m. at Nathan’s Food Store, located along the Marvin D. Love Freeway at Fawn Ridge Drive.

According to police, as many as four suspects approached the store at closing time in an apparent robbery attempt. Shots were fired and one of two clerks was struck. He was taken to Methodist Hospital of Dallas, but later died. He has been identified as Ahferom Kassa Berhane from Richardson.

Police said that the other clerk was not hurt. A handgun was recovered in the parking lot.

At least one suspect ran into the nearby Mesa Ridge Apartment complex, but police have no suspects in custody at this point.
