Cold front on track to get here midday on Sunday.  This front will usher in cold arctic air Sunday night into Monday.

FOG TONIGHT…

Mostly clear skies will allow for good radiational cooling of the lower atmosphere.  This will allow the air at the ground to reach saturation.  This basically means that the air will reach 100% relative humidity and fog will form.  This fog could be dense from areas around Dallas to the east and south.  A few factors could limit the density of the fog.  The most important would be high clouds moving into the area tonight.  Even just a thin deck of high clouds can stop temperatures from dropping down.  There are also some low-level clouds still lingering over areas SE of Dallas.  If these don’t move out this evening that could affect the extent of the fog tomorrow morning.  But at this point, be on ready for a slower morning commute due to some patchy Dense Fog.

COLD AIR ARRIVES SUNDAY EVENING…

The strong cold front that will finally make it feel like winter arrives during the day on Sunday.  Temperatures will top out in the mid 60s ahead of the front on Sunday, but as the front moves thru temps will drop into the 50s during the afternoon with a strong north wind blowing.  The really cold air arrives once the sun goes down Sunday.  Temperatures will fall into the low 30s and upper 20s by Monday morning with winds gusting to 20 mph.  This will make it feel like it is in the Teens Monday morning.  There will be small rain chances with the front on Sunday, but most of the rain will be east of the metroplex Sunday.
