After over a month without measurable rainfall at DFW, there is a decent chance in the forecast during the afternoon today and again tonight. By midday, scattered light rain should be moving into North Texas from the west. We’ll have off and on lighter rain showers during the afternoon and evening, with an isolated thunderstorm possible.
By later tonight, a weak Pacific cold front will approach from the west. This will be our best shot for thunderstorms, but still not expecting widespread severe storms. There could be some lightning and small hail in the strongest storms tonight between 9p and midnight.
Skies should be clearing quickly overnight from west to east…leaving us with a partly cloudy, but mild Saturday. In fact, both Saturday and Sunday afternoons, we’ll have well-above normal temperatures in the 70s! Fairly mild weather for the entire 7day forecast actually.
