FORT WORTH (TXA 21) – This season’s final installment of TXA 21’s High School Football Kickoff Show featured live in-studio guest appearances from the 2012 Whataburger All-North Texas Team. It was a unique opportunity to welcome into our studios 24 of the top football players in the state.

The All-North Texas offense includes Southlake Carroll quarterback Kenny Hill (a Texas A&M commitment), DeSoto running back Dontre Wilson (Oregon), McKinney Boyd running back Bryan Driskell, Dallas Jesuit wide receiver Jake Oliver (Texas), Wylie East wide receiver Marcell Ateman (Oklahoma State), Euless Trinity tight end Jason Reese, and Allen athlete Oliver Pierce, who has signed a wrestling letter-of-intent with Oklahoma.

Offensive linemen on the squad are Lake Highlands’ Kent Perkins (Texas), Irving’s Jaxon Salinas (Oklahoma State), Southlake Carroll’s Cam Manning (Louisiana Tech), Dallas Adamson’s Draven Taylor, and DeSoto’s Devonta Leary.

The Whataburger All-North Texas defense features some highly recruited defensive linemen, including Dallas Kimball’s Justin Manning (Texas A&M), Dallas Skyline’s Kerrick Huggins (Oklahoma), Euless Trinity’s Sam Tevi (Utah), and Coppell junior Solomon Thomas.

Heading the linebacking corps is Plano Prestonwood Christian Academy’s Mike Mitchell, who is one of the top recruits in the nation, as well as Mesquite’s Javon Jones and Arlington’s Sammy Douglas (TCU).

The secondary is comprised of Southlake Carroll’s Tanner Jacobson, Frisco Centennial’s Ranthony Texada (TCU), Irving MacArthur’s Taion Sells (Baylor), and Lancaster junior Nick Harvey (Texas A&M).

Arlington Martin’s Ben Grogan, who has committed to Oklahoma State, is the placekicker on the elite squad.
