CLEBURNE (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Johnson County are investigating sexual assault cases that took place in both the summer and fall of last year. The crimes happened in the eastern part of the county near Country Road 605 and Country Road 528. The sheriff’s office has released a detailed sketch of the suspect.

During the investigation, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is reminding area residents to be aware of other people in their neighborhoods. “Don’t become lax or complacent,” said Sgt. Tom Hargrave in a written statement, “because another offense hasn’t occurred in recent weeks or because you may live in a city rather than the unincorporated part of Johnson County.”

Hargrave told citizens to “be nosey” of anyone who may not belong in the neighborhood. “Watch them, write down their license number, write down a description of them, make note of their actions,” he said, adding that the suspect could be hiding behind trees or simply walking down the street or going door-to-door. “If you deem their actions suspicious enough, call your local law enforcement agency.”

Investigators have received tips and are pursuing leads related to the sexual assault cases, but are still seeking more information. Anyone who might be able to assist authorities is urged to contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office at 817-556-6060 or Crime Stoppers at 800-794-8477.
