DALLAS (AP) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says 36 of 123 sexually exploited children identified in a five-week, international child pornography investigation were rescued in North Texas.
ICE Director John Morton revealed on Thursday that more than 200 adults had been arrested on allegations arising from the probe, which ended in early December. It found 110 victims in 19 U.S. states. The others were living in six countries.
ICE spokesman Carl Rusnok in Dallas says 36 children were identified and rescued in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He provided no other details.
Morton says the investigation is part of the agency’s effort to find and rescue victims, and arrest abusers and people who make or transmit child pornography.
