ARLINGTON (AP) - Alex Hamilton scored 14 points for the Bulldogs on Saturday, six of which came in the final 2:35 to spark Louisiana Tech to a 55-52 victory over Texas-Arlington.
Louisiana Tech (12-3, 3-0 WAC) trailed 52-45 with 2:35 remaining in the game but closed out the Mavericks with a 10-0 run to earn the victory. Hamilton scored a bucket and hit four free throws during that span.
Earlier in the second half, the Mavericks held a 40-30 lead with 11:54 to go, but Louisiana Tech answered with a 15-4 run capped by a pair of free throws from Cordarius Johnson to give the Bulldogs a 45-44 lead.
Despite being out-rebounded 52-38 and shooting only 28.4 percent from the field, the Bulldogs forced Texas-Arlington (6-6, 1-2) to commit 23 turnovers and received 40 points off their bench.
