SAN ANTONIO (AP) – Jordan Reeves scored 21 points on a perfect 8 for 8 from the field, grabbed eight rebounds and Texas-Arlington shot 57.8 percent from the floor in a 75-67 victory over UTSA on Thursday night.
Texas-Arlington (7-6, 2-2 WAC) made 26 of 45 from the field including eight 3-pointers and dished out 19 assists as a team.
The Mavericks put distance between themselves and UTSA from the beginning, going on a 19-4 run to start the first half capped off by Jamel Outler’s four-point play. Outler was fouled by Hyjii Thomas while hitting a 3-pointer, then made the free throw and Texas-Arlington never looked back.
Drew Charles had 12 points for the Mavericks while Brandon Edwards and Jamel Outler each scored 11.
Kannon Burrage scored 17 points and pulled six rebounds to lead UTSA (4-11, 0-5). Larry Wilkins had 16 points and six rebounds and Michael Hale III had 15.
