FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS) - The condition of a Rottweiler, who was shot point blank in the face, is improving rapidly.
CBS 11 News first told you about Sandy on Friday. She was named in honor of the Sandy Hook shooting victims from Newtown, Connecticut.
Over the weekend, Dr. Tim Morton says Sandy was moving around a little more and the swelling in her face is starting to go down.
Sandy was rushed to Family Petcare in Fort Worth last week, with shot gun pellets still lodged in her jaw.
Dr. Morton says it appears someone took a shotgun, put it right against her face and fired.
Sandy’s recovery is expected to be a long one, with more surgeries in her future.
Family PetCare is accepting donations for Sandy’s treatment. If you would like to donate, visit the Family PetCare website.
