Texas higher education officials are under pressure from state lawmakers to streamline efficiency and cut costs where they can. The report is also expected to address how school could create revenue, such as commercializing the results of research projects.
Texas lawmakers slashed nearly $1 billion from higher education in 2011 and are under pressure to reign in tuition costs. Some lawmakers want university funding to be tied in part to graduation rate.
