DALLAS (AP) – Federal prosecutors in Texas say three Dallas residents have been indicted in an investigation of nearly $280,000 in travel agency payment fraud.
Jorge Armando Flores, his wife Roxana Flores and her son Julio C. Funes-Alas were arrested Tuesday in Amityville, N.Y., and remain in custody pending their return to Dallas. They face conspiracy and mail fraud charges.
The indictment unsealed Tuesday says Jorge and Roxana Flores were sales agents for an international wholesale travel agent, U.S.A. Gateway Inc. of Dallas. Gateway legally purchased tickets directly from airlines and then sold the tickets to retail travel agencies.
The suspects since 2007 allegedly conspired to convert payment checks from agencies in Texas, Rhode Island and Massachusetts to their own personal use.
Prosecutors didn’t immediately provide information on attorneys for the suspects.
