FORT WORTH (AP) - A man whose suburban Dallas apartment buildings have accumulated hundreds of violations was arrested for not paying misdemeanor fines.

Theodore Hansen of Utah was taken into custody when he appeared Monday for a hearing in Fort Worth to address conditions at an apartment complex he owns.

The city says there are broken windows, graffiti, rotten wood, and dilapidated conditions at the property.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the 42-year-old Hansen owns another complex in Arlington. Hansen had not paid any of the 125 citations issued for that complex as of Wednesday. Those fines total more than $40,000.

Arlington code inspectors last year identified 1,080 violations, including mold, roaches and some tenants living in units rife with garbage and animal feces.

Hansen could not be reached for comment.
