As we start the month of February, a rather quiet weather pattern is with us.  We will see chilly mornings, but mild afternoons with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s this weekend.  We will see mostly sunny skies on Saturday and then partly sunny skies on Sunday.  Tomorrow is Groundhog Day!

Weekend Forecast Fly

No rain expected this weekend.  On Monday, there will be a small chance of a shower mainly east of Dallas, but the chance will only be 20%.  Looks like our next best chance of rain will come late next week, probably Friday, Feb. 8th.

Average temperatures do increase for the month of February as we are seeing more daylight each day. The average high on February 1st is 58.  By the end of the month, the average high is up to 63.

Below are a few facts about the month of February.  It is our snowiest month, averaging 0.9″ of snow.  It is also the 3rd cloudiest month of the year.  It also comes in tied for 3rd place as the windiest month of the year.  March and April are our windiest months, but February and May tie for third place with an average wind speed of 11.2 mph.

Mild temperatures look to win the month.  But just to our north in the Midwest and Southeast, a very cold month is taking shape.  Our precipitation outlook is looking normal for the month of February, which would mean rainfall totals around 2.66″ for the month.
