DALLAS (AP/CBSDFW) – Dallas police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who is accused of killing a 44-year-old man after dragging him about 125 feet.
Police say the man, identified as Robert Earl Peters, Jr. of Richardson, was pushing a shopping cart across the 17800 block of Coit road at 2:14 a.m. Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle.
The man suffered injuries to his head and body and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Collin County Medical Examiner is working with the Dallas Police Department on the case.
A witness tells police that the driver who hit the man stopped briefly before fleeing the scene.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a yellow or orange or gold pick-up truck.
