ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Arlington Police are investigating a deadly single vehicle crash that happened late Saturday night along the westbound lanes of I-20 between Kelly Elliott and Green Oaks Blvd.
For an unknown reason the car veered off the main roadway and struck a guardrail. The impact of the crash causing the car to flip multiple times and land in a creekbed.
There were two women inside the car. Both were ejected as neither was wearing a seatbelt.
The westbound lanes of Interstate 20 had to be closed for two hours after the accident.
Sgt. Chris Cook with Arlington Police says investigators want to determine where the woman were coming from, since they believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
The driver, a woman in her 30′s, died at the scene, the passenger, a woman in her 20′s, was flown by helicopter to a Fort Worth hospital with critical injuries.
Neither of the women have been identified pending next of kin notification. The crash remains under investigation.
