DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) – On a sunny Thursday afternoon, it is a park filled with families enjoying great weather, a midday lunch or even spring break for the kids. “This is a family place,” longtime area resident Timmie Whiteside said while walking the running trail of Glendale Park.
The park is now part of a crime scene investigation. Wednesday morning, Dallas Police reported the rape of a 46 year old woman at the park. The attack occurred around 2:00am. Police indicate the victim was abducted by two men near the Ledbetter and Sunnyvale Avenue area. The woman was then assaulted at the park.
“It’s crazy because it’s never happened all the time I’ve been coming here. I’ve never seen anything,” said park regular Karina Hernandez.
Authorities have offered few details about the suspects. The victim was treated for injuries at Parkland Hospital.
