IRVING (CBSDFW.COM/AP) – The Dallas Cowboys are set for a rare afternoon preseason game when they break training camp with a visit to play the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cowboys open the pre-season exhibition schedule in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio on August 4th against Miami.
The nationally televised game comes after former Dallas offensive lineman Larry Allen is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 3. Former Cowboys coach Bill Parcells, who won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants, also is in this year’s class.
The Cowboys will play against the Oakland Raiders in a night game Aug. 9 before playing the Cardinals on Aug. 17, a Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is 1:30 p.m. Arizona time.
Dallas wraps up the preseason with home games Aug. 24 against Cincinnati and Aug. 29 against Houston.
