FRISCO (105.3 THE FAN) – Cowboys first round draft pick Travis Frederick’s beard finally succumbed to his new Texas lifestyle.
Because of his love of BBQ, and with the approaching oppressive Texas heat, he decided to ditch his facial tribute to ‘Duck Dynasty‘ on Thursday afternoon with 105.3 The Fan’s Ben & Skin show during a live broadcast at 3 Stacks BBQ in Frisco.
Frederick’s beard has been quite the topic since he was drafted in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
The Wisconsin native is adjusting to his new Texas home and talked with 105.3 The Fan’s Ben & Skin before, during and after a professional barber from Floyd’s Barbershop removed nearly 6″ of facial hair.
Scores of local media were there to speak with Frederick and several teammates were on hand to help collect donations for severe weather relief efforts, helping those affected by the recent tornadoes that devastated areas of Texas and Oklahoma.
Tyron Smith joined Ben & Skin for the ‘play-by-play’ of the shaving.
