ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Loved ones will pay their final respects on Monday to the Arlington woman who was kidnapped and murdered nearly one week ago. Leona Swafford will be laid to rest. But with no arrests in the case of her killing, family members are still looking for closure as authorities continue searching for answers.

Police in Arlington on Saturday released surveillance video of Swafford, last seen outside of a donut shop on Tuesday morning, just moments before a series of terrible events took place and led to her murder. The 83-year-old, who was affectionately known to many as Granny, was carjacked in her own driveway. Her body was found about three miles away.

The suspect is still on the loose. A sketch of his appearance flashes on digital billboards and social media websites. He has been described as a black male in his late 20s to late 30s, about 6 feet tall with his hair possibly styled in a half-inch afro. He has a muscular build, dark skin and little-t0-no facial hair. He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and blue jeans.

Swafford’s life was celebrated at her church on Sunday. Family members and her religious community said that they were grateful to see everyone’s support during this tragic time. “Even though our hearts are broken this morning of the going home of Lee Swafford, we are delighted to know that you welcome her with joy into your presence,” said Pastor Gary Royer with Dayspring Church.

“We really appreciate the public keeping us in their mind,” said Swafford’s son-in-law, Roy Mitchell.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Arlington Police Department at 817-575-8529. Authorities reminded the public that even a small amount of seemingly insignificant details could be the key to breaking open this investigation. Oak Farms Dairy has offered a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect.
