NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The phenomenal growth north of Dallas draws some concern about future growth if the water supply becomes an issue.

With watering restrictions become the new normal, there’s a realization that conservation alone won’t answer the water needs of the area. University of North Texas economist Terry Clower says it’s a question being asked of local governments.

Clower thinks some businesses may choose not to relocate to North Texas because the area may be considered a ‘higher-risk’ place due to the lack of adequate water supplies. “If we are not matching our supplies to new demand from a growing population – it could be a problem.”
