6 Children & 4 Adults Hurt In Dallas Crash

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A suspected drunk driver allegedly ran a red light and plowed into an SUV loaded with kids early Monday morning in Dallas. The crash happened at about 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Garland Road and Buckner Boulevard, in the Casa Linda area.
Authorities said that six children and three adults were inside of a Lincoln Navigator when it was struck by a pickup truck that passed through the red light. Five of the kids were ejected from the vehicle. One of them — a 13-year-old girl — was reported to be in extremely critical condition. All of the young victims were transported to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. The current conditions of the children are not known.
A total of 10 people were hurt in the violent wreck, including the driver of the pickup truck. The adult victims were taken to Baylor Medical Center at Dallas. Their current conditions are also not known.
Police reports identified the suspected drunk driver as 26-year-old Edward Ray Rodriguez. Once released from the hospital, officials said that he is expected to face numerous charges, including DWI and intoxication assault.
