LEWISVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) – An elderly man who had been reported as missing on Thursday evening was found alive and safe early Friday morning. Police in Lewisville had been searching for 92-year-old Vinhcuu Peter, who disappeared around 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening in the Castle Hills development that straddles Lewisville and Carrollton.
“Peter speaks Vietnamese and knows very little English,” Captain Jay Powell explained in the original media alert.
The man was located at an apartment complex in Carrollton at about 8:20 a.m. Friday morning, and he was reunited with his family.
A Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter assisted in the search late Thursday night, along with officers on the ground and members of a specialized dog-tracking team called Search One. Police also put a Code Red alert into the neighborhood, making calls to homes in the area and asking residents to be on the lookout.
