CICA Music Festival Comes To Dallas
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - They’ve been nominated for Grammy’s and they’ve won gold medals – now these amazing musicians are right here in north Texas this week sharing their skills at the Chen Intertnational Culture and Arts Summer Music Festival.
The CICA Music Festival was started by Thomas Chun-yu Chen five years ago and this year he brought it here to Dallas.
“Every year I invite my musician friends from worldwide, from Switzerland, Thailand, China, Italy and also many people from the United States.” said Chen.
Chen also brings in top teachers from all over the world to teach and inspire the students. There are 80 students participating in the music festival.
Like the teachers, the students come from all over the world to learn from the best in the industry.
Dallas Piano is a big supporter of the music festival, lending a $135,000.00 Fazioli piano.
“My background is in music education and when an educator like Thomas came to the store and asked us to participate I thought it was a perfect combination for students that are world class to experience a piano that’s world class as well.” said Gary Rich, General Manager of Dallas Piano.
Chen is pleased with his decision to bring the music festival to Dallas and knows it will continue to grow. This week you can enjoy the sounds of the students as well as the professionals at nightly recitals and concerts.
