Getting Hotter in North Texas!
102 degrees was the high today at DFW! This is the 8th time this year we have reached triple digits. More on the way.
A big ridge of high pressure that was over the southwest early this week is sliding our way. That will keep temperatures in the triple digits for the rest of the week and early next week.
A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for Dallas, Tarrant, Denton and Collin County until Thursday evening. This will probably be extended past Thursday and may be expanded to include other parts of North Texas. A Heat Advisory is issued when the afternoon temperatures feel like 105 degrees or hotter and the morning low is 80 degrees or warmer. It is that low temperature that disqualifies some of the outlying counties from being in the Heat Advisory.
