The HEAT ADVISORY has been extended through Friday evening. Heat index numbers during the afternoon will approach 110°. And our morning lows will not drop below 80°, so we just don’t get a great opportunity to cool off at any point during the day or night.
We do have a deck of high clouds this morning, but those should mix out during the day. So lots of sunshine will get us up to 100° today. The lack of wind has also led to an OZONE ACTION DAY…another reason to stay indoors today!
Be smart about dealing with this heat. It’s hasn’t been a brutally hot summer so far, but this next week will be the hottest stretch of weather so far. It’s important to follow heat safety tips. Don’t leave pets or children in parked cars…they can quickly become deadly ovens.
