NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 NEWS) – This weekend Dallas and Fort Worth has lots of events that are fun for everyone, and the best part about these events… they’re FREE!

For all you gamers the 18th Annual QuakeCon convention is happening this weekend at the Hilton Anatole. There will be the latest and greatest in new technology, world class tournaments, and other activities any gamer will love.

Click here to find out more about the bring-your-own-computer event. Then we have something for those who want to get outside and on their feet this weekend. This Saturday, Summer Salsa will kick off. There will be live salsa music and salsa experts to teach you some moves.

Another place that you can get some live music and watch some dancing will be this Saturday as well at Viva Dallas. There will be more than 250 exhibitors and free health screenings in the Dallas Market Hall. Vendors will have some of your favorite Latin American food, and some cultural dancing.

Something that the whole family can enjoy would be the Family Festival at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. It will be this Saturday from 1pm to 4pm with art activities, live performances, and children’s films.

Then for all the food enthusiasts, The Botanical Research Institute of Texas will hold a farmers market. There will be fresh seasonal produce from the local area. And, as you shop around there will be live music, and some educational presentations. This will be on Saturday from 10am-2pm.
