DESOTO (CBSDFW.COM) - Hundreds of people gathered in front of the home of two of the four victims of a shooting rampage for a candlelight vigil Saturday night.

Police say Zina Bowser and her daughter Neima Williams were shot and killed ‪‪by Erbie Bowser, a former Mavs ManiAAC dancer. Bowser allegedly shot his two sons, age 11 and 13, who survived.

Family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and sorority sisters are just some of the dozens of people who showed up to pay their respects.

“It just says how wonderful a person she was, not only a family person but she had a sisterhood out here, her sorority, her community,” said Carolyn Edwards, Williams cousin. “It was just an awesome occasion with all the prayer and the kind words and encouragement and her family.”

At the vigil family and friends told stories and enjoyed tears, laughter and good memories of Williams.

“She was really just a jovial, fun person and good mama,” said Ketina Potts, a close friend and sorority sister of Williams.

But the tragic way in which she and her daughter were taken deeply hurt the people who loved them.

“They didn’t deserve this. Those kids don’t deserve to be without their mother, they don’t deserve to be without their sister,” said Chelsea Bynum-McKellum, a cousin of Williams. Loved ones also used the opportunity to ask victims of domestic violence to speak out.

Family members say they are grateful for the support and prayers as they struggle to cope with the tragedy.

“We thank you and we love and we miss her and we just ask that you continue to keep our family in prayers,” Edwards said.
