We are finally “thawing out” across NTX and I am sure you felt the difference today. This morning we didn’t see freezing temps across NTX and the official morning low at DFW was 38° which is slightly below average for this time of the year. Even though we saw more clouds today our southerly winds helps warm us into the upper 60s today. That warming trend will continue during the next few days.
Now that we are rounding out the month it is always interesting to take a look back at how we shaped up for the past 30 days.
The numbers tell the weather story that you felt this past month. Our average high of 63° was almost four degrees below where we should end up. So with our high temps being cooler than average that normally plays out in the low temperatures also. The average low was 44° which is just a bit more than two degrees below average. We did see days of heavy rainfall across parts of NTX but at DFW we saw 2.12″ of rainfall. That is about a half inch below where we should be during this time of the year.
Going into December we need to prepare for more cold weather. Here are the outlooks for Temperatures and also Precipitation. Expect temps to be average to below average in December and the Precip to be near average.
Into Sunday expect the warming trend to continue. There is a weak trough rotating into NTX that increases our clouds tonight and tomorrow. The weak cold front to the north will move close to NTX but it doesn’t have a lot of moisture to work with so I don’t expect a large amount of rain. In fact the highest rain chance is 10% at best Sunday.
Temps will be on a nice warming trend through the mid week before a strong cold front moves through Thursday. This is going to be another case of temperatures warming well above average on Wednesday into the 7os. Then, Thursday is when the change happens with rain and dropping temps. Check out the 7day forecast below to see the big temperature change toward the end of next week.
Get out and enjoy Sunday and even the beginning of the work week but grab the umbrella by Wednesday and then the coat by Thursday.
Have a great holiday weekend.
