Fort Worth Teen Wounded In Alleged Accidental Shooting

UPDATE: Fort Worth Police has corrected its previous report that the 14-year-old who was shot has died. The media has been informed that he is NOT dead.
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed on Thursday night in an alleged accidental shooting at a Southeast Fort Worth home.
Several men were at a home at 3028 Hanger Avenue when a 24-year-old man pulled out a handgun. According to the man, he was unaware that the gun was loaded and shot the victim in the head, just above his left eye.
The victim was rushed just before midnight to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspected shooter fled the scene, but later called police from a secondary location. Officers met the suspect and took him into custody.
Homicide investigators are conducting the investigation.

On 12-26-13 at 2349 hours Central 343 was dispatched to 3028 Hanger Avenue responding to a shooting call. Several hispanic males were at this location when the actor 24 yoa h/m pulled out handgun. According to the actor he did not know the gun was loaded and shot the victim 14 yo h/m in the head just above the left eye. The actor fled location. The victim was transported to JPS where he died from single gun shot wound. The actor called police from a secondary location. Officers met with him and took him into custody. Homicide Unit has been notified and will be conducting the investigation.

ONE PERSON WAS TAKEN TO J-P-S HOSPITAL.
THE VICTIM’S CONDITION HASN’T BEEN RELEASED.
POLICE HAVE NOT RELEASED ANY DETAILS ABOUT THE CIRCUMSTANCES RELATED TO THE SHOOTING.
