DALLAS (KRLD) — There is nothing better than a guitar played well…and no one better to do that than Dallas’ own Andy Timmons.
Andy wasn’t born in Texas with a guitar in his hand but he learned to play one early in life and later, got to Texas as fast as he could.😉
In the 80’s, Andy was the guitarist for Danger Danger and while with that band, he toured the world opening for bands like Kiss, Alice Cooper and Warrant (among many others). Double D (as I like to call them) sold over a million records and had two #1 videos on MTV (when they still played videos).
Whatever your poison (musical taste…NOT the band) Andy can do it: Rock, Blues, Pop, Session work, Instrumentals, Radio and TV Jingles…you get the idea.
The 80’s gave us a long list of guitar greats, and Andy is definitely one of them. He, along with Dokken’s George Lynch, Gary Hoey and Johnny Winter, will be performing at this weekend’s Dallas International Guitar Festival. I suggest you head over with your kids so they can hear what REAL music sounds like.🙂
I talked with Andy this past week about a bunch of things…some of which include the state of music today, groups he likes, the song that made him want to play music, which questions he gets asked most by fans, whether the rock “horns” should be retired, and we finally learn if Danger Danger choreographed those music videos back in the day. “BANG BANG”!!!!!!!!!
