Living Large: Chateau Mon View
FLOWER MOUND (CBS 11 NEWS) - Chateau Mon View is nestled in an exclusive gated and guarded community in Flower Mound. It is a home that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor living.
“When you come in from the foyer, and walk into the living room, you will be drawn out to the exterior porch,” says realtor Roxann Taylor, who has listed this house for sale for $2.5 million.
From the porch, you can see the green space all the way to Lake Grapevine. The outdoors has a beautiful sparkling infinity edge pool, spa, waterfalls, babbling brooks and tennis courts. All of which enhances the 1.6 acre property.
The home has four levels — the top most level is what is referred in architecture as the widow’s peak or widow’s walk. It’s a small room at the very top of the house with spectacular views of the lake. The homeowners have converted it into a cigar room.
One of the bedrooms has a secret hidden room behind one of the book cases.
“You actually have to have a clicker to open it up,” says Taylor, as she clicked the bookcase open. “It is made of ballistic fiberglass. You and you family can have a space to escape to.”
A passage leads to a 560 sq. feet room with a lift coming up from the garage. A perfect way to bring up your seasonal decorations into the storage room.
Taylor says the home owner added a lot of features into the new home which was originally built in 2002. The home is a little over 9,800 square feet with 17 rooms and 7 full baths.
It also has a 1,000 square foot caretaker apartment over the car port.
Downstairs, the kitchen is a grand space, perfect for entertaining large crowds.
“I call it the twin kitchen because it’s got twin Bosch dishwashers, twin sub- zero refrigerators, twin ovens,” says Taylor.
And finally the downstairs walkout basement includes a wine grotto, complete with a cellar and a wine tasting room.
The floor also has an exercise room with a sauna.
