KRLD — Looking for something to do this weekend? We’ve got you covered!
Here is a list of events happening across DFW for the last weekend of May:
It is time to have some Fun on the Farm, ya’ll. Saturday’s (5/31) Country Critters Farm event in Alvarado will include bounce houses, a playground area, pony rides, a petting zoo, mule cart train rides, hay rides, a wooden maze, duck races, and game areas.
Summertime means it is Fireworks Rock and Roll Paddle Tour time each Friday night at Lake Grapevine. Celebrate the first fireworks show of the year Friday night (5/30) at DFW Surf on a sunset and then paddle to Grapevine Island where Grant Braudrick will be live in concert. No prior paddle experience necessary. Fireworks go off at 9:30.
Play some golf and help out a great cause Friday (5/30) in Rockwall at the Buffalo Creek Golf Club. It is the Meals on Wheels Rockwall 5th Annual Golf Tournament …a chance for foursomes to win cash prizes for the top three golfers …Free lunch and dinner …Great golfing in a beautiful community…All for a great cause.
The Dallas Zoo is holding a “Kid to Do” Saturday (5/31) evening. This thing is a fundraising event for the zoo that will have tons of stuff for the entire family, plus live music by A Hard Night’s Day and awesome food.
Four Corners Brewing Co. is having a Beer Dinner Friday evening (5/30) at Whole Foods Market in Highland Park. You’ll have a delicious four course dinner paired with tasty craft beers. I would go through the menu but I am already freakin’ hungry. It wouldn’t be pretty.
The woman had a voice like no other and she left this earth waaaay too soon. If you are a Patsy Cline fan, be at Casa Manana Friday night (5/30) for the production “Always…Patsy Cline”. This show that runs through June 8th is based on the true story of Patsy’s friendship with her most devoted fan, Louise Seger. All your Patsy favorites will be in there: “Anytime,” “Walkin’ after Midnight,” “She’s Got You,” and “Crazy”.
If ballet is more your thing, take the short drive over to Bass Performance Hall for Swan Lake Friday night (5/30). Swan Lake uses Russian folklore to tell the story of some chick who is turned into a swan by some evil dude. Despite her new physical form, she falls deeply in love with Prince Siegfried, who doesn’t know who she is. Guys are so blind. Swan Lake will be accompanied by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra to celebrate Tchaikovsky’s work.
Taste of Irving is set for this weekend (5/30-31). They’ll have live music, kid’s rides and cool stuff to buy that isn’t edible.
If you dig the Stones, head over to the Gas Monkey Bar and Grill tonight (5/29) for Satisfaction – The International Rolling Stones Show. These guys have been featured in Rolling Stone, Showbiz Magazine, Las Vegas Today, CBS Sunday Morning news and hundreds of national newspapers.
Tonight’s (5/29) Dallas Arboretum Cool Thursdays features the disco goodness of Le Freak! So gather up the cooler and the chairs and prepare to venture back in time to the days when having Saturday Night Fever was a good thing…on a Thursday night.
